Grace Urban Ministries (GUM) is committed to helping congregations develop ministry that is sensitive to the gifts, maturity, and work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the congregation, and also responsive to the unique needs and assets of the surrounding community. Among the critical assets of a given community are its families, schools, cultural groups, nonprofit agencies, public services and faith communities. Because we believe no congregation can, or should, serve in isolation from others, GUM seeks to develop ministry both holistically and collaboratively, as reflected in the five ministry areas:
